COMANCHE Launches at Newport Shipyard

The 100' state-of-the-art race boat Comanche was commissioned at Newport Shipyard by Kristy Clark on October 19 after an aggressive 18-month build at Hodgdon Boats in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The boat will be skippered by Volvo Ocean Race veteran (and Newport's own) Ken Read. Slated to race in the Rolex Sydney-Hobart Race in December, the team also plans to race Comanche in the Transatlantic Race 2015 which leaves from Newport in June among other ocean races.

The team at Newport Shipyard has enjoyed working with the Comanche build team and crew members and we wish them much luck on all their record-breaking attempts!
