Ship Store and Chandlery Renovation Complete
The Ship Store and Chandlery at Newport Shipyard underwent an extensive renovation over the winter and is now open for business. With the expert design assistance of our friend, Kim Kirby, the ship store has been transformed into a vibrant retail space with attractive displays, improved lighting and an all-around modern look. Ship Store Manager, Isabella (Dana) Ridall and her talented store manager, Caroline Hall, have updated our inventory and carry the latest yachting styles from established yachting brands like Henri Lloyd and SLAM, up-and-comers like Freefly apparel and fashion sensible labels like Peter Beaton. We also have a full line of branded children's clothing and have now branched into leisure-wear with our attractive Newport Shipyard tunics. In addition to our popular Newport Shipyard-branded clothing, we carry Havaiana sandals, Ray-Ban and Kaenon sunglasses, custom cutting-boards and a variety of canvas bags and totes from local label Re-Sails.
The new and improved ship store layout also includes a dedicated chandlery area and service desk. URI graduate and sailing enthusiast Caroline Hall joined the Newport Shipyard team last fall, and has used her organizational acumen and retail expertise to improve stock room inventory and management. Most common chandlery items, including paint, hardware, cleaning products and basic marine electronics are always in stock, and anything that we don't have Caroline will be happy to source for you.
The Ship Store and Chandlery is located at Newport Shipyard between Belle's Cafe and the Yard's administrative offices, and shares space with the Dock Office overlooking the marina basin. Please stop by to check out our new space and new products next time you're in Newport.
